AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides free tax preparation service in eastern Maine through the support of people who volunteer to help others in the community. Volunteers are needed to staff tax clinics, helping people file complete and accurate tax returns.

The foundation is looking for people who are willing to learn how to help low- to moderate-income adults prepare and file their tax returns online, providing them with deductions they may have missed and the returns they deserve. In addition to openings for tax preparers, AARP also has openings for greeters and other positions.

Experience is not necessary; AARP will provide training and support through the IRS certification process. Newcomers to the program will work closely with experienced volunteers, both in training and at the tax clinics.
