BELFAST — On Thanksgiving in Belfast, Traci’s Diner was invaded by Red Knights.

Hostile takeover? Actually, the invasion was more of a hospitable takeover.

The Red Knights, a national motorcycle club composed of firefighters with a local chapter here in Belfast, partnered with Traci’s Diner to purchase, prepare and serve free Thanksgiving meals to anyone who walked through the door on Thanksgiving. Bagged meals to go were also a hot item. Members of Red Knights Chapter 9 of Belfast swapped their leather for aprons and served patrons throughout the afternoon as the crew from Traci’s kept pace in the kitchen.

Meals were free of charge, but a large bucket for donations filled quickly as dozens of hungry patrons packed the diner. A spokesman for the Red Knights advised that all the donations will be used to purchase holiday gifts for foster and adopted children.
