The winter solstice is Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 4:47 p.m. Nights have been clear and cold and the last leaves have been blown off the trees with the winds we have had. Still the docks are in the harbor for the lobster boats to bring in their last traps, and then they, too, will be pulled out of the harbor for the season. Sunsets are now at 4 p.m. with long nights and sunrise is at 6:43 a.m. as I write this.

Thanksgiving has come and gone with friends coming for dinner and lots of enjoyment. Hope your Thanksgiving was good and that you made some new memories. Now we are almost into December, which always goes by in the blink of an eye with all the festivities. Enjoy each day as it comes!
