BELFAST — A man found with a sword was arrested Nov. 26 and charged with several offenses following an investigation into a domestic violence call.
Larry Kaiser, 38, of Belfast was charged with domestic violence assault, class C, using a weapon causing serious bodily injuries; criminal mischief, a class C offense; and violating conditions of release, a class D offense.
According to a press release from the Belfast Police Department, officers received a call at approximately 6:37 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, regarding an alleged domestic violence incident in progress. It was reported that the incident had occurred on Smart Road.
When officers arrived on scene they located Kaiser, who possessed a large sword, according to the report. After speaking with the victim and witnesses, police arrested Kaiser. The victim was taken to Waldo County General Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Kaiser was taken to Waldo County Jail where he remained in custody at press time. The case is still under investigation, and police said additional charges may be forthcoming.
