The three little kittens: Franny, Alice and Betsy are supposed to be going to the Waterville Area Humane Society, that is if I can get Betsy into a carrier. She’s been the hardest to “tame,” but I can now pet her without her running off. Franny and Alice let me pick them up and give them kisses and their little motors start running; I’m going to miss those little buggers..

Cassie’s School of Dance is having lots of fun in their dance classes in Unity! If you would like to join them for their spring season please let them know now! Send an email to thomasschoolofdance@gmail.com. You can find the Unity class schedule at thomasschoolofdance.com/unity.

The second annual Unity “Get Lit!” competition, sponsored by the Town Office, runs through Dec. 18. Like last year, decorate your house for Christmas and post the picture to the CommUnity OpportUnity Facebook page and you’ll be entered into a drawing for one of three $50 gift certificates from local businesses: Amish Community Market, Unity Flower Shop, and Unity Shop ‘n’ Save. Unity residents only. If you’re not on Facebook you can have a friend or neighbor post it for you. Winners will be drawn at the Dec. 20 Select Board meeting.

Unity Shop ‘n’ Save is celebrating 12 days of Christmas. Starting Dec. 13 through the 23rd, put your receipt with your name, town, and phone number in the box located at the front of the store for a chance to win a $25 gift card. Winners from all three of their stores will be put into a drawing for a grand prize of a $500 gift card.

Dec. 17 at 4 p.m. there will be an “ugly sweater” Christmas party at Stone Tree Cidery on Albion Road in Unity.

The “Yuletide” celebration on Dec. 4 was a great event! It appears to be growing in popularity each year. It was a little chilly for me so I stayed in my nice warm car and enjoyed some hot chocolate and popcorn courtesy of Chase Toys.
