Greetings, Brooks.

Writing this while awaiting our first real snow of this winter. I wanted to give you a recap of some of the events that occurred over this past week.

Many thanks to all of the performers and those who attended the wonderful Country Christmas concert. The music was beautiful and the event was followed by a community supper featuring homemade soups, breads and desserts. Another big thank you to the people behind the scenes who set up and cleaned up. It was a great evening!

The Brooks Volunteer Fire Department members and their families gathered for their annual holiday party. Benjamin Foss was recognized as Firefighter of the Year for all his extraordinary hard work and commitment. Congratulations, Ben! We are so grateful for the Fire Department. Please see any member to find out how you can help.

The Varney Ladies Fellowship met for its annual holiday party, luncheon and gift swap. This is another worthwhile organization that gives back so much to the community. Their next meeting will be held in March. New members are always welcome.

It’s almost hibernation time (two more days until Ralph’s Cafe closes for the season). I want to take this time to wish all a Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.
