BELMONT —Tambara Arnold, 30, of Belmont died Monday, Dec. 19, when she lost control of her car on an icy stretch of Route 131 and struck a tree.
State Police reported that troopers responded to the single-vehicle crash at approximately 8:11 a.m. Arnold, the driver, was alone in her 2001 Toyota 4Runner, police said.
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety, a witness reported seeing the vehicle losing control, over-correcting, and then leaving the roadway, at which point it overturned and struck a tree. Arnold was pronounced deceased at the scene.
State Police received assistance from Belmont Fire, Belfast Fire and Totman’s towing. The crash remains under investigation.
