Open mic poetry reading Jan. 9 at Belfast library

BELFAST — Belfast Poet Laureate Judy Kaber invites local poets to an afternoon open poetry reading, entitled “Melting the Ice: Poems of Warmth & Wonder,” Monday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. in the Abbott Room of the Belfast Free Library, 106 High St.

Winter can be a time of struggle with cold weather and icy roads, but it can also be a time of joy when we gather together with friends and family or when we indulge ourselves in the beauty of the season. Bring a poem of warmth and wonder (or any poem, really) to share with others. There will be time for each poet to read one poem.
