ORONO — The Midcoast’s high school indoor track student-athletes were on the move on Thursday, Dec. 29 in the New Balance Field House at the University of Maine.
That was positive news for many of them, including the Belfast girls and Medomak Valley boys of Waldoboro, who forged to first places. Oceanside of Rockland also participated in the regular-season meet.
Midcoast athletes earned 16 first-place finishes, including in individual and relay events.
Individually, Belfast’s Juniper Fowler, Oceanside’s Cassidy Novicka and Medomak Valley’s Slavick Moody, Noah Morris and Will Rush captured two firsts.
The girls team scores were: Belfast 132, Winslow 72, Oceanside 62 and Skowhegan 28.
The boys team scores were: Medomak Valley 88, Skowhegan 76, Winslow 70, Belfast 56 and Oceanside 10.
