AUGUSTA — The Maine Community Action Partnership will be highlighting the heating assistance resources available for Mainers — and thanking public and private funders of heating assistance — in the Hall of Flags at the Maine State House, Tuesday, Jan. 24 between 11 a.m. and 1p.m. The public is welcome to attend and learn about the multiple paths to home heating this winter.

Guests who have been invited to speak around noon include:

Maine House and Senate Leadership that passed the Winter Energy Relief Payment Program.

Representatives from the Governor’s Energy Office and Maine State Housing Authority.

Representatives of Maine’s congressional delegation who successfully advocated for additional Home Energy Assistance Program funds.

Representatives of the Maine Community Action Partnerships that administer HEAP funds, including the executive directors of the Aroostook County Action Program and MeCAP.

Representatives of the private sector, such as Global Partners, which donated $140,000 to the Maine Community Action Partnership to support heating assistance.

Representatives from United Way who administer the Keep ME Warm fund and the Project Heat Telethon on Jan. 26.

Representatives from the Maine Energy Marketers Association whose February Fuel Your Love campaign provides Mainers the opportunity to nominate a neighbor for a donation of free heating oil.
