BELFAST — Francis A. Dudley, 89, of Belfast died Jan. 20, 2023, at Waldo County General Hospital.

Francis was born July 1, 1933, in Brooks to Frederick W. Dudley and Eva E. (Cook) Dudley.

He worked for several companies and was well known for his expertise in repairing commercial and residential sewing machines. In his later years, you would always find him at home, watching his favorite Western.

Francis was preceded in death by his first wife of 50 years, Beverley J. (Albee) Dudley. He was also preceded in death by his second wife of 15 years, Elizabeth (Patterson) Dudley; his daughter April (Roberts) Dudley; and brothers Carl Dudley and Paul Dudley.

Francis is survived by four sons, Brent Dudley and wife Virginia of Harpswell, Farley Dudley and wife Linda of Brooks, Dale Dudley and wife Sharon of Lakeland, Fla., and son Steven Dudley of Belfast.  Francis is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved and had great affection for him.

With profound sadness over our loss, but with love and thankfulness for him, our family will remember him for his steady temperament and timely wit while providing the road map for our work and life ethics we have today.
