Ice storm causes power outages, slippery driving conditions
Effects of the recent ice storm are still being felt along the Midcoast and while some residents have been lucky enough to not lose power, nearly 5,100 homes in Knox and Waldo County are without power. As of 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, Waldo County has been the hardest hit with 4,900 homes reporting power outages, compared to just 250 in Knox County, according to the Central Maine Power website. Young hired to be Damariscotta's top cop
Former Lincolnville Police Chief Ronald Young has found a new department to lead — he recently accepted the chief of police position in Damariscotta. A tentative contract has been agreed upon and will be finalized after the completion of a physical and psychological evaluation, he said. Lincolnville woman escapes serious injury in single car crash
A Lincolnville woman escaped serious injury April 13 when her late-model Saturn left the road and crashed into a tree.
