Fran Gonzalez has lived in Waldo County since 2006 and has been part of the Journal news team since January 2018. Most of his career he worked as a graphic designer, but he has always enjoyed telling stories through images. When not reporting or taking pictures, he can be found spending time with his family at camp, playing guitar, or zipping around on his 39-year-old Japanese motorcycle.     Searsport and Lincolnville schools receive federal broadband funding

    The Emergency Connectivity Fund created by the American Rescue Plan Act will distribute a total of $1.6 million to schools across the state aimed at bridging the digital divide. In Waldo County, two schools will receive grants totaling over $73,000.
