    There was a large turnout at the Searsmont Community Center to celebrate the town’s 200th birthday on Saturday, Aug. 9. The day was filled with activities including a performance by Belfast Bay Fiddlers, a lobster feed and pig roast, and fireworks.

    Large turnout for Belfast's ukulele picnic

    A large crowd attended the inaugural Belfast Ukulele Picnic June 7 at Steamboat Landing. The event began with an 11 a.m. introduction and was followed by performances from various ukulele clubs hailing from places such as Machias, Blue Hill, Farmington and Belfast, beginning at noon.
