Maps showing how Republicans and Democrats want to change Maine's two U.S. Congressional districts and 35 state Senate districts were released late Thursday for voters to contemplate. The Democrats' proposal would move the town of Unity into the 1st District.

Memorial Day brings early print deadlines
The Republican Journal will go to press early for the June 3 issue because of the Memorial Day holiday. All submissions, including letters to the editor, must be received by noon Friday, May 28, in order to be included in the June 3 paper. Courier Pubications' offices will be closed Monday, May 31.

Searsport recount results affirm Cuddy as winner in House 98
Incumbent Scott Cuddy, D-Winterport, and opponent Jessica Connor, R-Searsport, agreed to the election night results in the House District 98 race after Searsport election results were recounted Nov. 20. Requested recounts for Maine House Districts 96 and 98 are rescheduled to Friday, Nov. 20, Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap confirmed Thursday, Nov. 12.
