Sign up for Rural Living Day April 6

Thorndike — Rural Living Day is Saturday, April 6, at Mount View High School, 577 Mount View Road. The event will feature 22 workshops with topics ranging from making traditional Amish sausage and growing ginger and turmeric, to beekeeping and creating herbal concoctions.

Some featured presentations include John Bunker discussing apple growing in Maine to a “tick talk” featuring Lyme disease specialist Dr. Beatrice Szantyr.

Rural Living Day is organized by the Waldo County Extension Association and is a fundraiser for a scholarship fund for Waldo County youth who will be attending college in the fall.

Registration numbers for certain classes are limited, and some classes are already full, so sign up soon! Complete information and registration is available online at extension.umaine.edu/waldo/rld.
