Board of Selectmen

The selectmen’s meeting will be held on Monday, April 15, starting at 6 p.m. at the Town Office. All the meetings are open to the public. If you are interested as to what is going on in your community, come to the meeting and get the information there.

Voice of Freedom

I received a call from Clara Fales and she reported that Drew will be coming home on April 8 for several hours. The rehab center will be bringing him home to check out the layout of the house, and let Clara know if there is anything that needs to be changed to suit Drew’s needs. Then near the end of April, Drew will be coming home to stay.

On this past Monday, Prentice Grassi, chairman of the Planning Board, notified the Board of Selectmen that Drew will be retiring from the Planning Board after approximately 30 years of being a member on the board. He has volunteered for so many projects during his time in Freedom and we are certainly going to miss his volunteerism and his smile. I always call him “Smiley.”

Thank you, Drew, for all you have done for the town of Freedom, the work, the hours, and now it is time for you to rest! May God continue to bless you. Enjoy your retirement.

A message from Bonnie Shaw regarding Steve “Coach” Shaw. Steve got two thumbs up from the cardio-thoracic surgeons. He was taken off his heart medication and the doctor said he doesn’t have to see him again! Bonnie and the family can’t thank you all enough for your prayers and support! They went for a celebratory lunch and started it with a prayer thanking God for their blessings! May God continue to bless Steve and the family.

As I sit here typing, I’m listening to the howling wind that has continued for the past few days. It is a good thing for it will help dry up our roads and driveways. I hope the sun keeps shining and the rain stays away.

So until next week, stay safe, be kind to your neighbors and God bless.
