Finally, our first hint of summer! However, I'm going to be a bit pessimistic and leave my turtlenecks in the ready. My flower pots are done. I have yet to transfer or plant anything to the garden; maybe I will tomorrow.

Maine Farmland Trust (MFT) and Unity Barn Raisers (UBR) are happy to announce that Veggies For All (VFA) has returned to its roots. As of this spring, VFA is once again a project under Unity Barn Raisers. VFA was founded in 2007 by young farmers who recognized the potential for local agriculture to relieve hunger. Election: June 11, 2019 Voting on: RSU #3 Budget and School Board Members and the Consumption and Selling of Alcohol on Sundays in the Town of Unity. Polls are open 8am - 8pm Voting will be held at the Unity Town Office.

Reminder that railroad crossing repair will be June 10th and 11th on the Unity side of Crosby Brook Road.

Do you like putting together puzzles? Do you like getting wet? What do these two things have to do with each other?

Meet us at Kanokolus on Wednesday, June 12, at 6 p.m. and you can find out. We (the selectmen) will provide pizza and "entertainment."

I spoke briefly with Kati-Ann Curtis. She is looking at doing the swimming lessons the first two weeks of July. I will provide more information as it becomes available.

The Town Office has a new deputy clerk in training. Mary Ellen Hall from Burnham has retired after two decades of working for MBNA/Bank of America and has joined us at the Town Office. She's a great fit; be sure to stop by and welcome her.

On Saturday, June 29, at 8pm at Unity Raceway, the AC/DC tribute band "Back in Black" will be performing.

There will be a presentation by Ann Luther of the League of Women Voters Maine at 93 Main Café on Thursday, June 13, at 1 p.m.

Deepest condolences to the family and friends Kay Tozier, who passed June 4, 2019, at the age of 87.
