Weather Brief Jul 19, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - July 19, 2019 PM

Friday started off cool and crisp with morning lows dipping into the 50s under clear skies but changes are taking place from the comfortable late week weather. A warm front is lifting through the state from west to east on Friday, gradually raising humidity through the day and increasing clouds. This will be followed by a big increase in temperature for the weekend with the hottest air of the summer thus far. Highs on Saturday will rise into the 90s for much of the Midcoast. The heat coupled with the high humidity will make it feel like the upper 90s to low 100s. Excessive heat and humidity can be extremely dangerous to the elderly, the young, those working outside, and people with existing heart conditions. It is advised to limit time in the direct sun and strenuous activity and stay hydrated. The heat and humidity will hold for Sunday with highs likely again in the 90s for many locations. A cold front will move in late Sunday and into Monday bringing a round of showers and storms. This will be followed by a cool down heading into the mid week as high pressure builds in with another stretch of sunny weather.
