Byrer has 'Liquid Visions' at Kramer

"August Blooms" by Jon Byrer.

BELFAST — "Liquid Visions," an exhibit of enamel oil paintings by Jon Byrer, are on display for the month of August in the Kramer Gallery of the Belfast Free Library, 106 High St.

Byrer’s poured enamel paintings are all about painting beyond brushes. These paintings push the abstract trend of fluid art into recognizable impressionist landscapes, portraits and still life.

Describing his approach to painting, Byrer says, “My work is my view of the complex beauty in the Maine landscape. From bodies of water to country roads, I strive to capture the movement in each scene. This landscape is constantly changing; intermingling light, color and shadow in an evolution through time. My objective is to convey this sense to my viewer through my painting style and technique.”

Byrer attended Maine College of Art and graduated in 1999. He lives in the Midcoast area where he creates poured marbled paintings, drawings and photographs.
