'Taste the Market' Aug. 16 in Belfast

Aug 04, 2019

Belfast — Taste the Market Day is coming up Friday, Aug. 16, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Belfast Farmers’ Market.

In addition to live music, the market will feature Iive cooking demonstrations by The Maine Meal, one of the market's vendors. Cooking demos will use fresh ingredients available at the market and offer free taste-testing and take-home recipe cards so customers can cook their own meals from ingredients grown and produced by market vendors.

Belfast Farmers' Market accepts SNAP and EBT for qualifying purchases and participates in the Maine Harvest Bucks nutrition incentive program.

Shoppers using EBT and SNAP benefits for food purchases at market will receive one dollar in Harvest Bucks coupons for every dollar spent. The coupons may be redeemed at the market for qualifying locally produced fruits and vegetables. Shoppers should stop at the Info Table before shopping to make use of this program.

Belfast Farmers' Market is open every Friday year-round, mid-April through October outdoors, and in winter at Aubuchon Hardware Greenhouse. Learn more at
