Window Dressers receives grant, begins measuring for 2019

Aug 05, 2019

Belfast — The Belfast Window Dressers workshop is pleased to announce that it has received a grant from the New England Grassroots Environment Fund. The grant will allow the nonprofit group to provide window inserts to more area residents who might otherwise not be able to afford them.

Window Dressers' four measuring teams are out measuring customers now. All measurements must be done by mid-October for this year’s build workshop at the Boathouse Nov. 6-22. Anyone interested in volunteering can sign up at or 596-3073.

Window Dressers' individually measured, pine inserts, wrapped in polyolefin film, will keep you more comfortable next winter, save on fuel costs, and reduce carbon emissions from burning fossil fuels. The organization keep costs reasonable by inviting all customers to volunteer in some way, which also creates community by working — and having fun — together.

New England Grassroots Environment Fund awards help solve the problems and realize the promises in addressing climate change and energy action, local food, environmental health and justice, land and water and local economies. For more information, visit or call 603-905-9915.
