The Old Blues Kats

SEARSMONT — Searsmont Town Library's Live at the Library concert series continues on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 7 p.m. with The Old Blues Kats.

DW and Doug started their musical journey together in Waterville in 1970, playing in The D&A Blues Band and later The Blues Prophets. The boys worked with Big Walter Horton, Eddy Taylor, Otis Rush, Muddy Waters, James Cotton and Jimmy Rogers. They played The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival with Professor Longhair and The Fabulous Thunderbirds and they have opened for Stevie Ray Vaughn and BB King.

The Old Blues Kats duo brings the blues tradition to life as they pay homage to the original blues masters dating back to the early 20th century. America’s longest musical tradition is live and well in the hands of these Old Blues Kats!

Admission is free. Searsmont Town Library is located at 37 Main St. South. For more information, call 342-5549.
