Weather Brief Dec 09, 2019

Midcoast Forecast - December 9, 2019

An area of low pressure moving through the region is bringing soaking rains to the Midcoast along with strong wind and mild weather. Temperatures warmed Sunday night and through Monday with highs in the 40s Monday afternoon. These will continue to raise into the mid 50s on Tuesday as milder air moves in along strong south winds. Winds will be sustained between 15mph to 25mph with gusts up to 40mph, peaking Monday night. Rains will be heavy at times through Monday afternoon and the early night, then become spotty through Tuesday. Rainfall totals through Tuesday will range between 1" to 1.5". This along with melting snowfall could result in areas of minor flooding for the early week. A cold front will push through Tuesday night ushering in colder air to the Midcoast. This will change rain over to snow Wednesday with a trace to 1" of accumulation possible through the day. We'll see cold and quiet weather for the late week followed by another warm up and round of soaking rain on Saturday.
