Weather Brief Jan 15, 2020

Midcoast Forecast - January 15, 2020 AM

The area of low pressure that brought winter mix overnight is starting to clear out this morning. The combination of light snow and freezing drizzle will make for slick spots Wednesday morning as precipitation comes to an end. We'll see the return of some sun Wednesday that will rebound temperatures to the upper 30s to near 40 before clouds build back in late in the day. Our weather pattern stays active as stronger area of low pressure moves through New England on Thursday with a better chance for snow that could result in around 1 to 3 inches of accumulation with periods of rain mix possible along the immediate coast with 2 to 5 inches inland. This will be followed by clearing and cooling Friday as highs drop into the teens with lows into the single digits to near 0. The cold air will set the stage for another round of snow which looks to serve up the greatest accumulation for the upcoming week. This will begin after dark on Saturday and continue into Sunday morning with early estimates of 4 to 8 inches possible with lesser totals along the coast where rain may mix in. We'll clear out for the early week as another blast of cold air settles in.
