BELFAST — All are welcome to gather at Memorial Bridge Monday, Sept. 11, at 8:30 a.m. for the annual 9/11 Commemorative Walk.

Organizers will conduct a brief ceremony with a prayer led by Veterans of Foreign Wars, a blessing by Pastor Michael Horton of Faith Temple Church, a gun salute and Taps. Participants then will walk three times across the bridge and back in remembrance of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center's twin towers and the Pentagon Sept. 11, 2001.

In those attacks, and the crash of a fourth hijacked plane in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, 2,977 people were killed. FMI: Gary Philbrick, Gphilbrick@Gmail.com or 342-2315.
