Agency seeks seniors' input on aging issues in Sept. 10 focus group

Aug 29, 2019

Belfast — Spectrum Generations, the Central Maine Area Agency on Aging, is seeking focus group participants to gauge their interests and insight on issues related to their desire and ability to continue aging in place.

The focus group will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Volunteers of America Reynolds House, 33 Booth Drive, Belfast. Participation is free and snacks will be provided, but registration is required.

The purpose of the focus group is to identify what older adults believe are their general needs, concerns, and health issues. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in an open environment, and bring their concerns about available services and any resources that may be lacking.

Spectrum's flyer about the session says: "We want to hear about your thoughts on what it is like to stay in your own home and your experience with services available to you in your area. We encourage you to share services you would be interested in being available to you."

Themes that emerge from the focus group will assist Spectrum Generations in forming its strategic plan, which is also shared with the State Office on Aging and Disabilities.

For more information or to register, contact Beth Seekins at 930-8090 or email bseekins@spectrumgenerations.org. TTY is available at 800-464-8703.
