Adam Nordell of Sassafrass Stomp

UNITY — Come out for an evening of Maine-based acoustic music and entertainment with duo Thorn and Shout and solo performer Adam Nordell of Sassafrass Stomp on Thursday, April 18, at 93 Main Coffee Shop in Unity. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m. The suggested donation is $10.

Thorn and Shout play acoustic music informed by folk, Americana, freight trains, barn owls, dogs, milkweed and the hills of their homestead in Troy. Rich vocals weave with guitar, viola and banjo to alternately haunt and delight. The project is the work of Sofia Crowfoot (formerly of Squinch Owl and Sons of an Illustrious Father) and Link Crowfoot (formerly of Thy Courage Quail). For more information about Thorn and Shout, visit thornandshout.bandcamp.com or facebook.com/thornandshout.

Songwriter Adam Nordell performs acoustic folk music rich with imagery and human stories, and accompanies himself with five-string banjo, guitar and syncopated foot percussion. His songs reflect his connection to place from the rolling farm country of central Maine to the mountains of his childhood home in western Montana. Nordell also performs as part of the folk duo Sassafras Stomp and co-runs Songbird Farm, an organic vegetable and grain operation in Unity.
