Art, wine and ‘Memories’

Belfast — Belfast Co-op Café will host a free monthly wine tasting of highlighted seasonal wines, gourmet cheeses and crackers and the opening of "Memories — Now and Then" Friday, Dec. 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. Rodney Winchell of Wicked Wines; Jaap Helder from the co-op's wine department; and artist Richard Knox will be available to answer questions. Featured wines will be 10 percent off during the tasting; participants must be 21 years of age or older to attend.

"Memories — Now and Then" is a collection of Richard's paintings and pen-and-ink sketches done from memory or working from photographs. A native of Fairbanks, Maine, Knox graduated from Farmington High School, is a Vietnam veteran and a storyteller on community radio station WERU-FM. His show will be on display in the café for the month of December.
