Author, magician add Fizz to summer

Stockton Springs — The Fizz Boom Read summer reading program will begin Tuesday, July 8, at Stockton Springs Community Library, 6 Station St. It will continue every Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. through Aug. 12.

The series will offer books, stories, activities, snacks and lots of fun. Each week will have a theme: the first week focuses on slime; the second week will explore the senses; the third week will feature author/illustrator Josh Alves; the fourth week’s theme will be the world of crystals; the fifth week will play host to science magician Conjuring Carroll; and the final week will explore the world of bubbles.

Alves is illustrator of the Zeke Meeks series; and author/illustrator of “Lilly Bristol, Dinosaur Wrangler” and “The Town a Tyrannosaurus Wrecks.” Conjuring Carroll is a magician and family entertainer who is sure to delight.
