Planting onions at Bahner Farm in May

I met Mike and Christa Bahner, owners of Bahner Farm, while attending a MOFGA  training program last summer. I was looking for a farm to apprentice with to learn hands-on about agriculture.  Here are a few shots from time I spent there this spring.

Bahner Farm is located on Rte 3 in Belmont.  Mike and Christa run a farmstand, CSA (community supported agriculture), and sell at farmers markets.  I learned a lot working with them, and they're great people.

This summer the Bahners have help from three apprentices, Eitan, Laura and Jess. MOFGA's Farm Apprenticeship program connects people wanting to learn organic farming with experienced farmers.  They also offer a Farm Training Project with great workshops that I attended last year.  You can check out this year's schedule here: http://mofga.org/tabid/298/Default.aspx.  They're free and open to anyone interested.
