BAHS students, VFW members stage spring cleanup

Belfast — Randall Collins Post 3108 of Veterans of Foreign Wars teamed up with Belfast Area High School students in the Jobs for Maine Graduates Program May 4 to clean up debris in Grove Cemetery and elsewhere in Belfast.

Students with teacher Tom Hart and VFW members removed 1 1/2 dump-truck loads of debris from the cemetery. Along the Route 1 overpass, the footbridge and at Waldo County YMCA, they collected 27 50-gallon bags of trash.
