For the second year, Belfast Creative Coalition is collaborating with the 52nd Bar Harbor Music Festival to bring three classical music performances with classically trained, world-renowned musicians to the Belfast area in July.

“We are so proud to help bring these amazing artists from what is often referred to as Maine’s Premier Music Festival,” said Larraine Brown, new director of the Belfast Creative Coalition. “There are many classical music lovers in this area that we want to engage and support.”

The first Bar Harbor Music Festival at Belfast performance features guitarist Christopher Ladd, an award-winning and internationally renowned classical guitarist recognized throughout North America and abroad as one of the most promising musicians of his generation. Ladd will perform Sunday, July 15, at 7:30 p.m. at Bayside Community Hall, 813 Shore Road, Northport, as part of the Bayside Arts series.

The second performance will feature renowned American concert pianist Christopher Johnson Friday, July 20, at the Belfast Free Library, 106 High St. Johnson has appeared extensively in recital, on radio and TV, as soloist with orchestras and in chamber ensembles throughout the United States, Canada, Central and South America and Europe. His charming repartee with each audience makes his music accessible and enjoyable.

The series will conclude Sunday, July 22, at 4 p.m. with the return of the Ardelia Trio to the Gammans Room of Belfast Free Library. Forged with a common commitment to presenting innovative and engaging interactive concerts, violinist Janey Choi, cellist Clara Yang and pianist Jihea Hong-Park formed the group after working together in various capacities as performing and teaching artists. They bring thoughtful, yet boldly energetic, interpretations to repertoire ranging from Baroque through the standard Classical and Romantic genres to today’s living composers.

Seating is limited for each of the performances. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Left Bank Books in downtown Belfast and, as available, at the door. Tickets are $20 per concert/$50 for all three for adults; $10/$25 for age 11 to 18; and free for younger children. For more information, call 218-1144.
