Barley Joe Farm Greenhouses is a family owned and operated business located on Route 90 in Warren 1/2 mile from the intersection of Rt 131 and Rt 90 heading towards Camden. Fred and Jan Macdonald are the owner/operators and have been since 1993. Barley Joe's actually started up in 1968 by Jan's parents John and Barbara Harris as Bar-Lee-Jo's on the Patterson Mill Road in Warren.

We are noted for our geraniums and hanging baskets as well as a wide selection of bedding plants, vegetables seedlings, and potted arrangements. Folks from around Maine bring their windows boxes and deck pots to be filled and made ready for the summer/fall season. The economical pricing of our products have made us quite popular with those who want fair pricing as well as great plant quality. There are seven houses of plants available and folks are encouraged to stop by and watch the progress of the seedlings and transplants as they make ready for their debut into family's gardens and homes.

Integrated Pest Management

Barley Joe's is happy to announce we are now using biological pest management. This means we are no longer using pesticides to fight pests but incorporating the use of insects to fight the invasive agents like aphids, whitefly, thrips, etc. So when you come to the Greenhouse don't be surprised ...
