Beatles Songwriting Clinic presented by Jeff Weinberger and K2 Music

By K2 MUSIC | Jul 03, 2012

On Friday July 27th at 7-8:30 PM, music instructor Jeff Weinberger, along with K2 music, will present a Beatles Songwriting Clinic. The Beatles are widely thought of as one of the most legendary and popular rock bands in history. Their songs are known all over the world and still resonate today, a half-century later. In this 90-minute clinic, Jeff Weinberger will approach the music from a guitarist's point of view and will be accessible to musicians and writers of all levels. Jeff will teach some of the theoretical and compositional tools used by the Fab Four to pen their classic tunes. The emphasis will be on chords, song form and arranging techniques with a few brief side trips into the gear, recording techniques and vocal harmonies that gave the Beatles such a distinctive sound.  Extensive critical listening and handouts will be employed to illustrate the topics and a bibliography will be made available for further independent study. Some music theory and rudimentary guitar skills are recommended, but not required. Bring your guitar if you want some hands on learning or just sit and soak up the sounds and flavors of some of the world's greatest music.   Fee is $5. Pre-registration is requested since space is limited. Come in to K2 Music or call to register.   Music instructor Jeff Weinberger has played guitar since age twelve. He started teaching guitar in earnest at eighteen. After deciding in high school to be a professional musician, he attended Berklee College of Music.
