Belfast Community Works offers Electrical Repair Café

Nov 06, 2017

Belfast Community Works announces its next community event: an Electrical Repair Café Saturday, Nov. 11, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Belfast.

This free event is all about sharing good practical knowledge over a cup of coffee and a slice of cake (hence the "café" bit), helping the environment by keeping stuff out of landfill, and building community.

Participants should bring small electrical appliances in need of repair, along with replacement parts if possible. Ideas include (but aren’t limited to) toasters, lamps, vacuums, coffee grinders/makers, etc. Technicians and tinkerers will be on hand to help troubleshoot and, with luck, repair broken items.

Don’t have a replacement part? Folks will be available to help figure out what part might be needed and help you order the part if possible. There will also be snacks, drinks, good conversation, and educational activities for all ages.

Belfast Community Works is a group seeking to create a shared space for makers, builders, tinkerers, and dreamers of all ages that enriches our community and encourages innovation, creativity, and connections throughout Belfast and beyond. For more information, go to http://bcwmaker.space.
