Belfast Museum Opens

Belfast Museum, 10 Market St. (corner of Church Street) opens for the summer season. Featured exhibit is “First Church in Belfast – Celebrating 200 Years”; also featuring a drum major band uniform worn by Tom Fitzgerald during the 1939 Memorial Day parade, a display of Victorian children’s clothing, maritime history, Capt. Albert W. Stevens, Perry’s Nut House, the William O. Poor apothecary bench and the 1864 Civil War flag quilt. In the barn are the old two-cell jail from City Hall, a horse-drawn funeral carriage, and old Belfast business signs.
