Four New Courts

Belfast Pickleball to mark July 21 grand opening with scramble

Jul 09, 2018

Belfast — A celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony will open four new pickleball courts at Belfast City Park, on Northport Avenue, Saturday, July 21.

The ribbon-cutting will begin at 9 a.m., followed at 9:30 a.m. by a pickleball scramble for players of all levels, with refreshments and prizes. A scramble is a fun, social pickleball tournament that you enter without a partner and are assigned a different partner for each new game.

At noon there will be a free and relaxed opportunity for prospective players to put a pickleball paddle in their hands and try the game. All are welcome to join for all or part of the day to see what this fastest-growing sport in the U.S. is all about.

Lawn chairs are optional.

For more information and/or to register for the scramble (there is a $15 fee for the 2 1/2-hour tournament), email, call 207-338-0983 or visit the Events page at
