Benefit Dinner for Meals On Wheels!

It began with an older lady that lived in an apartment and had only a hot plate on wheels to cook her meals.  The Mission Group at Pratt Memorial United Methodist Church, called United Methodist Women, thought they could help her with better cooking options - and started a Thursday luncheon to which people where invited weekly for food & fellowship after a while through dialogue with Lois Stackpole Alley, "Kitchen wizard" at Methodist Conference Home the vision for Meals on Wheels began in Rockland.


The United Methodist Women's group were among the First drivers for home delivery starting with 3 routes. The rest is history!


United Methodists in Rockland have had a commitment to nutrition for the elderly and the home bound for decades - Continuing its' commitment to a now well established program Aldersgate United Methodist Church will be holding a Public Supper To Benefit Meals on Wheels:

Saturday, April 26th at 5pm, tickets $7.00

Everybody is Welcome! So Bring a family member/friend too!

Wondering if Leona Pierpont was the chef back then and still remains in the kitchen til his day. A true faithful servant.
