Some of the horsemen of Belfast and vicinity talk of forming a society, to be called the Waldo County Horse Breeders Association, with the object of advancing the interests of the horse in this vicinity. Other counties in the State have such associations, which are advantageous to all concerned. No county in the State has better stock than our own, and we hope the association will be formed. The society would have annual races and could make them interesting. Belfast alone has some fine animals.

A carload of blocks left Belfast last Thursday for New York, to be shipped from there to Panama for the use of the Isthmus Canal Co. The blocks were made by the Duplex Roller Bushing Co. of this city and are of the ordinary pattern, single, double and triple, carrying ropes of from 1 3/8 to 3 inch, made of ash, with galvanized straps and duplex roller bushings.

Odd Fellows hall was prettily decorated last Friday evening for the formal reception given the B. H. S. faculty under the auspices of the Seniors. Their class colors, red and white, were used in crepe paper streamers combined with autumn foliage and flags… The Seniors ushered from eight till nine o’clock, presenting a large number of parents and friends of the pupils. Carters orchestra played during the reception and for the dance from 10.30 to 12…The program also included piano selections by the Misses Brewster and Townsend of the school and by Mr. Webb, vocal solos by Miss Quimby and readings by Mrs. Parker. All responded to encores. Punch and fancy cakes were served by the Seniors during the evening.
