Body of missing Waldoboro man found by Penobscot River

Searsport — The body of Steven Reed, 64, of Waldoboro, was found along the banks of the Penobscot River last week. The remains were transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta, where positive identification was made late in the week, according to a news release from Maine State Police.

Reed’s relatives were notified over the weekend. Reed was last seen leaving Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor Nov. 4 after being discharged. Searsport Police and State Police detectives coordinated the recovery of Reed’s body from the river bank after it was discovered on Tuesday afternoon, May 8.
