Broadreach names new prevention director

Broadreach Family & Community Services of Belfast and Rockland has named Jennifer Tracey as its prevention director.

Tracey joins Broadreach with more than 18 years of experience in social services. In her new role as a member of the Broadreach management team, she oversees the agency's prevention grant programs, including Youthlinks after-school program in Rockland, Community Partnerships for Protecting Children, the Child Abuse and Neglect Councils, and a new Resilience grant from the Maine Children's Trust. She also provides direct service to parents and families of these and other Broadreach programs.

The agencies Tracey has worked for share missions similar to that of Broadreach in service to children, adults and families who struggle with physical, medical, educational, emotional, economic and/or cognitive challenges.

Most recently, she was a residential and day treatment clinician at Sweetser. Previously, she was a therapist at Bangor Veterans' Center, MAS Home Care of Maine and Kennebec Behavioral Health. She has also been a case manager with Special Master of Family Therapy from Southern Connecticut State University.

A former nonprofit leader, Tracey has worked as a public health analyst, medical office coordinator, and AmeriCorps/Peace Corps volunteer. She is currently training to be a certified alcohol and drug abuse counselor to help meet the challenges of opioid abuse in Midcoast Maine.

Nonprofit Broadreach Family & Community Services has served individuals and families in Midcoast Maine since 1983. Its programs include early childhood education services, including pre-K services with Regional School Unit 71 and Sprouts, a nature-based preschool program; Youthlinks after-school programs for middle and high school students; and prevention programs that strengthen and advocate for families.

Broadreach preschool programs are nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Broadreach is a Maine-licensed mental health provider offering Behavioral Health and Case Management Services for all ages.
