Brooks — After The Republican Journal published a story on services offered by some grocery stores in Waldo County to help shoppers who prefer to stay out of the store to avoid exposure to the novel coronavirus ("Don't want to enter the grocery store? No problem!" TRJ, Dec. 31, 2020), we heard from Matthew Mckillop, manager of the Marsh River Cooperative at 5 Veterans Highway, whose store was not included in that story.

Our earlier story did not attempt to talk to all the grocery outlets in the county, but Mckillop wanted to make people aware of the services offered by Marsh River to its customers. These include online and telephone ordering with curbside pickup. He said orders are usually filled the same day, but sometimes it takes until the next day, depending on how many orders come in on a particular day, and what time of day the order is placed.

The store is open seven days a week: Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In-store patrons are required to wear face coverings, and one will be provided for anyone who does not have one, he told The Republican Journal by email. The store offers contactless checkout, regularly cleans high-contact surfaces, as well as using an overnight ultraviolet sterilization process, he said, and allows only five shoppers in the store at a time.
