Hello. It's been cold out there! Lots of holiday-related events coming up.

The Brooks Congregational Church and Brooks Action Group invite you to Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 28. This annual event is held at the Varney Building, 24 Veterans Highway, Brooks. The public is welcome, and there is no charge. We began serving at 1 p.m. If you need a ride, please call the church office at 505-5571. If you have never attended, I urge you to do so. There is a real sense of community (not unlike the first Thanksgiving) and a bounty of outrageously great food. Hope to see you there.

The Brooks Holiday Celebration will be Sunday, Dec. 1, at the Varney Building. Schedule of events: Schedule of events: 2 - 3 p.m., kids' arts and crafts; 3 p.m., Santa arrives; 3 - 4 p.m., pictures with Santa.

For more information, call Mike at 722-3236 or Jane at 722-3254. This is always a fun time, and the children really enjoy the arts and crafts.

The Brooks Country Christmas will be Sunday, Dec. 8, beginning at 3:30 p.m., Brooks Congregational Church, 22 Veterans Highway.

Join us for a singalong featuring individual performances. Soups and breads to follow at the Varney Building. If you or your group would be interested in taking part, we'd love to have you. We're looking for musicians, singers and storytellers.

Please call Mike at 722-3236 or Melissa at 323-9347.
