Cat & Dog Dental Care

Horse & Hound Veterinary Services offers dental cleaning for cats and dogs. Dental tartar and gingivitis causes pain and infection to spread throughout the animal's entire body. A "rotten mouth" can be the source of heart, lung, liver and kidney disease. Most dental cleanings require a pet to be anesthetized. An average dental cleaning includes a pre-treatment exam, sedation, inhalation anesthesia, ultrasonic dental cleaning, dental polishing, antibiotic injection, ear cleaning and nail trimming - cost $ 300.  If the animal is 7 years of age or older, a pre-anesthetic blood test to evaluate kidney & liver function is recommended. Blood test cost additional $50. If the pet needs antibiotics to treat oral infection, the medication is an additional fee depending on the body weight of the animal.
