Celtic concert at Belfast Cohousing

BELFAST — Powerhouse Celtic musicians Andrea Beaton and Troy MacGillivray will appear in a house concert at Belfast Cohousing & Ecovillage, 25 Village Road, on Friday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m.

Andrea Beaton is an award-winning fiddler, composer and recording artist who tours and teaches internationally. She has released five solo albums, one duo album with her father, Kinnon Beaton, and a book of original tunes. Her 2010 CD, "Branches," won the Canadian East Coast Music Awards "Instrumental Recording of the Year."

Troy MacGillivray possesses a rare combination of commitment and bloodline. By age six, he was impressing audiences with his step dancing skills. At thirteen he was teaching piano at the Gaelic College of Celtic Arts. Add his exceptional fiddle playing to the mix and you have the complete Celtic music package.
