Get set for Oct. 7

Church Street Fest to collaborate with Crosby

Sep 25, 2017

Belfast — The 38th annual Church Street Parade and Festival is set for Saturday, Oct. 7. New Church Street Festival committee members are making plans with The Crosby Center for performances, art displays, a jump house and music, along with chalk art, face painting and the traditional cake walk.

The fun will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Church Street and at The Crosby Center, 96 Church St.; the parade will come down Church Street starting at 11 a.m. (lineup is at 10 a.m. at 49 High St.).

MythWeaver Theater Parade is seeking ideas and participants for the annual parade. The year’s theme focuses on our digital realities such as being Googled. Marchers of all ages are encouraged to join in the Marching Emojis, the Wireless Hot Spots, the Bobbling Google Heads and Lost Chargers that will join parade favorites including Babe and Bela the elephants.

Help is needed to make parade props and costumes. Marchers who need costumes or those who want to help decorate for the parade will meet Friday evening, Oct. 6. For more information, call Mary Weaver at 338-5777 or email
