Jan 08, 2021

Belfast — Peter Dugas, co-chairman of the Portland chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby, will lead a climate workshop, "Simulating Global Solutions," via Zoom on Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m.

The interactive workshop is sponsored by the Belfast Area Chapter of Citizens’ Climate Lobby. Email to register to attend.

Dugas will present a computer model created by MIT-based Climate Interactive. The model, En-ROADS, uses the best available science data and economic modeling to project changes in climate and the economy until the end of the century. Following the demonstration, Dugas will invite participants to compare and evaluate the effectiveness of multiple strategies that limit future global warming.

The En-ROADS workshop has been run for the U.S. Congress, HSBC bank, the UN Secretary-General’s Office, and many others.

A Portland native and an educator, Peter earned a B.S. degree in physics and engineering from Brown University. He is a veteran advocate for energy efficiency since retrofitting the historic building where he now lives with his wife and daughter.
