Coast Guard, VFW lend a hand at Ames Field Day

VFW and Coast Guard volunteers make sure participants are well-hydrated at Ames Elementary School's field day June 10.

Searsmont — Active duty members of the Coast Guard unit and members of Randall Collins VFW Post 3108 in Belfast volunteered their assistance at Ames Elementary School's field day June 10.

Ames third-grade teacher Sarah Nelson posted on the VFW's Facebook page: "Thank you for your hard work! Incredible job keeping all the stations well watered!!!"
