ComeBoating! women earn first, second in Gloucester regatta

Local men's squad also finishes third.

Gloucester, Mass. — Female rowers from ComeBoating! demonstrated their strength, endurance and mettle as they won the women's division and finished second overall in a regatta on Saturday, Sept. 29.

There were 16 gigs and several divisions, including men's, women's and mixed men's and women's teams.

ComeBoating! rowers, in Selkie, finished the more than three-mile race in 33 minutes and 47 seconds.

The local rowers included Marnie Reeve, Serena Cole, Susan Cutting, Laura Brown, Paula Herron, Nicolle Littrell and Monica Piccinini (cox).

There also was a ComeBoating! men’s team that placed third in its division. The group included Rowan Walauski (cox), Ethan Shaw, John Dillenbeck, Jonathan Fulford, Matt Dingle, Geir Gaseidnes and Clark Staples.
